This AIA award-winning project invents a new urban space for the city, a kind of open castle for the people of Copenhagen that celebrates the city and illuminates the everyday life of Valby.

The urban intervention performs simultaneously as landmark, square and distinct urban ensemble. Each of these aspects of the project corresponds to three distinct scales; the metropolitan scale, the scale of the square and the scale and specific conditions of the surroundings.

Toftegards Plads Syd invents a new urban space for the city and creates a gateway to the city of Copenhagen and a landmark in Valby.
