The Duval Open Room acts as an oasis, an open-air community room. The square provides a terminus to the perspective looking south on Duval Market Street and is dedicated half to sports and half to a community public room to play dominoes, chat, and get together with friends. Young and old are welcome to the public square, a place of encounter and wonder. Walls with a pattern based on the colors of Caribbean flags provide further identity to the space, making the public square personal and belonging to all.
