Flower Power Flag, appropriates the form and function of a flag by inhabiting the largest existing flagpole in Downtown Miami.

The 30 x 20’ flag, is made with  thousands of brightly colored flowers, brings the spectacular to the street and injects an element of fantasy and beauty into everyday life. Usually, flags symbolism promotes division, tribal affinities and notions of identity -the idea  of us versus them.

The unexpected discovery of  the FLOWER POWER FLAG in downtown Miami suggests a spirit of peaceful resistance, challenges established symbols, and presents the possibility of a new world where the lines between us versus them no longer exist.
